Akismet is a spam fighting service that protects millions of WordPress sites from comment and contact form spam.
It also has a generic API. There are libraries for Dart, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Ruby, Go, etc, as well as plugins for other CMSs. So if you use a different CMS or have your custom app, you can still use Akismet for spam detection.

OOPSpam looks super similar to Plino, but has a pricing model, which is nice. They publish their latency, which is over two seconds Onar, the maker, tells me they have it improved to 1235ms. I haven’t compared that to the others so I have no idea if they are all that slow. Two seconds seems like a lot for an API call to me, but maybe it’s not that big of a deal since it’s an async submit?
