  • I hope it was worth it
Oh don't do this. A brigade of LA apologists will swoop in to explain the present value of money from investopedia.com and how they actually really only signed Ohtani for about tree fiddy in today's cash. Source: 6 months ago
  • BUY AND HODL FOR THE LONG TERM!!!
I found out that a penny stock typically refers to a stock that trades for less than $5.00 a share. If you would like more information on penny stocks. Please go to investopedia.com There is more info about penny stocks on this link. Source: 6 months ago
  • Playing the HSA game wrong...
I've found investopedia.com to be a pretty good reference for a lot of financial topics, especially for introductory overview level stuff. They even include footnotes for more definitive (but often harder to read) references. Here's their article on HSAs, and one for High Deductible Health Plans (the only type of insurance that qualifies for contributing to an HSA). Source: 6 months ago

  • Should I walk away?
I suggest making your account a Roth IRA. I'll let others explain about Roth IRA's. They are very popular. You can read about them on investopedia.com, wikipedia and many other places on line. Source: 11 months ago

  • anyone know where can i learn more about evolution ?
Go to The Encylopedia of Life. The whole concept of species changing becomes so much easier to understand when you get a better idea of just how much biological diversity exists in the world. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Suddenly Conan with smol kitten.
Considering I just spent 10 minutes (edit: at the time of beginning this it was 10. Its been about 30 minutes now as of posting this, lol.) skimming google with several Wikipedia, bengalcats.co, eol.org tabs open, I can say that while youre right, I can 100% see where the other person got the idea of it being a rusty-spotted cat, and you don't have to be so mean about someone making a minor error. regardless, it's... • Soil: The secret world beneath our feet is mind-blowing
    - http://eol.org # This shows some nice graphs of what pest might ward of other invaders but its quite the challenge to find it. For illustration on what I mean with the graph, here's a good example: https://eol.org/pages/45515235 I am dreaming of having the time and budget to expand on this website of EOL and develop an open source farm where non-tech users can contribute through tools like iNaturalist and... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Help on improving a web-scraper for biodiversity data
I would like to ask help for a script I made that scrapes data from a biodiversity database called EOL (eol.org). The code takes in a list of scientific names read from a CSV file, and searches EOL, grabs the info., then prints out a table of the collated data on a terminal. It works sort of well, but my concern is speed. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Why? How is there any logic behind this? 🤦‍♀️
