  • Ahoy Captain: a full-featured, mountable analytics dashboard
A full-featured, mountable analytics dashboard for your Rails app, which is a blatant rip-off of heavily inspired by Plausible Analytics, powered by Ahoy. Open source, though lots of changing parts: https://github.com/joshmn/ahoy_captain. Source: 11 months ago
  • Best rails tools to automatically handle logging of things like all a user's actions, or changes to a record in a module - primarily for audit purposes.
For logging which functions were used you can use ahoy. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Italian watchdog bans use of Google Analytics
I've slowly started ripping Google Analytics out of my Rails projects and replacing it with https://github.com/ankane/ahoy. It's so much better! I can just use SQL to see what's going in and not get overwhelmed with 100's of visualizations and complicated dashboards. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Make Ahoy Queries faster?
I'm using the ahoy gem for analytics on my website (https://github.com/ankane/ahoy). Source: over 2 years ago
  • Cookie-based tracking is dead
I did server-side tracking test in a rails app, where I implemented a tracking gem called ahoy and blazer for visualization. It is very easy to set up, but a bit hard to use. Blazer can do a very basic visualization of the data if you know your SQL queries. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago

  • Ask HN: How to transcribe 1000s of handwritten notes
Some good transcription solutions: https://zapier.com/blog/best-text-dictation-software/#windowsspeech https://otter.ai/ (Haven't actually tried Otter, but it gets a LOT of good reviews.). - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • How to build a Google Meet AI assistant app in 10 minutes without coding
Of course, there are many existing solutions like Otter.ai or Fathom in the market. But in case you want to build a tool yourself and customize the output of it, then you are on the same page as me. To develop this application, we will use Unbody to convert input video transcriptions into intelligence/generative content and Appsmith to make it easy to design and build the UI of our app without extensive front-end... - Source: dev.to / 7 months ago
  • I'm looking for a particular type of software and I don't know where else to go.
This is weird but I wonder if you could use something like https://otter.ai/. Record your notes as you are going. That should give you at least text of all of your welds. You’d still have to punch it later. Seems like there’s got to be a better way to do this. Stopping every time to break your flow sounds like a huge pain in the ass. Curious what you come up with. • How I tackled more than 2+ conflicting meetings
Is there any app from otter.ai that you run on personal machine? How does otter.ai process 4 different audio streams? Source: 7 months ago
  • How I tackled more than 2+ conflicting meetings
Job laptop -> 3.5mm aux (this turns into speaker output) -> 3.5mm mic/audio splitter (this turns into microphone input) -> 3.5mm to usb-c adapter (cause my macbook only has 1 3.5mm aux) --> now the personal macbook has a new "mic input" from the job laptop. Which you can use to pipe audio into otter.ai to transcribe audio. You have to manually name them, but they learn in subsequent meetings. Source: 7 months ago
