  Also, I don't think Airmail responds on here much, but I've found if you click the chat icon at the bottom right of this page, they're pretty good about responding by email.   This problem has already been partially solved by Tidelift. He even mentions them in his blog post, they used to send him $1000 a month. Unfortunately it sounds like they're not legally allowed to fund him at the moment because Russia. $1000 a month is not a lot considering the amount of work this guy is putting in, so Tidelift's model may not be sustainable but it's still an interesting business model.
