8 Best & FREE Hiking Apps You Need to Download in 2022 + Honorable Mentions!
For more advanced hikers, AllTrails also provide information such as elevation gain and trailhead location, and time. AllTrails app also tracks and records the hikes you've done, including the exact route you took, the elevation gain you've achieved, and how long it took for you to complete the trail.
12 Best Hiking Apps You Must Have in 2022
Google Maps does show hiking trails. You’ll see dotted hiking trails on most views of the map. It is an easy way to track your progress on popular trails in busy parks. Google Maps isn’t always reliable for less popular trails, so I recommend AllTrails Pro or Gaia GPS for tracking in more remote places.
Best Hiking Apps of 2022 – Tested and Reviewed
Last year I subscribed and this year I’m trying Gaia. I like how Alltrails seems to make it easier to locate trails. But I do like how easy it is to create a trail/path with Gaia. I need a PC to create one on Alltrails. As you can see there are things I like about both. Still figuring out my preference. If I could create paths on all platforms for Alltrails I’d probably lean...

  • Visiting in January, suggestions appreciated
When I travel, I look at eater.com for food recs, alltrails.com for hiking recs and google maps for anything not covered by those aggregators. This works out most of the time, and certainly provides higher-quality responses than random people on reddit. Source: 7 months ago
  • Anyone else feel like they’re losing their minds watching what’s happening in Gaza?
That is, after a shift at the shelter and a short hike! Alltrails has great stuff, idk where you are but it's got stuff in so many places lol. Source: 9 months ago
  • Good places for hiking around northern Chicago suburbs?
Not a specific destination answer, but I recommend checking out AllTrails. I like the details it provides. The reviews seem fair and the app is great. Source: 12 months ago
  • Shaded walking trails
How long of a hike/walk? Bridle Trails is fantastic. Trilogy area of Redmond (Redmond Ridge) also has a ton of trails. I highly recommend the alltrails.com app or site. You can search by easy/moderate/hard and distance and using the map zoom into a specific area. Source: 12 months ago
  • 27] Female solo traveller to Montana
OH and use alltrails.com to look up trails you're interested in and see the latest conditions. If I were you, and people are saying there's an active bear on a trail I would avoid it since you are alone. You'll find some trails people mention not great visibility around some corners or due to huckleberry bushes...I'd avoid those too on your own. Bears might be into huckleberry when you get there and the last thing... Source: about 1 year ago

  • what are you doing to save money on food?
    2) Some foods fill you up more than others, even if you eat the same quantity. This is the food’s satiety. There are websites that can give you the satiety index for lots of different foods. For example, the nutrition data website allows you to search for particular foods, and it tells you every nutrient found in it, along with its satiety index. Excellent for nerding out. • Is there any official charts or statistics about amount of fructose in fruits and berries?
Was it this? https://nutritiondata.self.com It lists fructose if you click on “more details” below the carbohydrates. Source: over 1 year ago
  • ... Am I just missing something and have been entering calories wrong this whole time or are Josh's calculations just off? Lol
This link has a lot of good info. Hope it helps! Source: over 1 year ago
  • How can one be sure to eat all relevant nutrients?
In practice, once you've settled on some dietary routine, one can just do a 'spot check' on a typical daily diet, just to see if there may be some nutrient that is of particular concern. For me, its typically magnesium or zinc. If you want to increase intake of some particular nutrient, you can use the Nutrient Search Tool on https://nutritiondata.self.com/ to search through the USDA nutrition databases by amounts... • Is it necessary to eat a variety of fruits, or can I eat the same fruit every day and have my fruit needs met?
You could look up the nutrients in it. I used to use nutritiondata.self.com, but they still haven't updated their system to show amino acids after Flash stopped being supported. And the main reason I liked them in particular is that most nutrition labels don't include essential amino acids. Source: over 1 year ago
