Hey I would suggest you start looking at the website mobbin.design - It should really help you identify what modern apps are looking like. In addition it allows you to filter screens by the different elements that they contain, which is very useful when you are creating a similiar product. The online tool: ezgif.com is pretty good for short gifs and maybe even videos in some cases. When it comes to free video editing software it gets a bit tricky imo. Most of them are not particulary designed around making meme clips. You could try microsoft clipchamp for windows (11?) for probably the most basic and easy editor around or Maybe kdenlive.org/ Haven't tried it yet. But it is free and people say it...
