Hey I would suggest you start looking at the website mobbin.design - It should really help you identify what modern apps are looking like. In addition it allows you to filter screens by the different elements that they contain, which is very useful when you are creating a similiar product. Typography: I don't think that compressed sans serif font is very exciting. I know the topic of the poster is pretty bland, but this is a school project. You should be showing off your creativity. Consider choosing two different fonts, one for the headers and one for the body copy. I know you are still learning, so type pairings might not be an intuitive process for you yet.
