On Mac I use Audiofinder and love it. Out analyzes all your samples, let's you hear them with plugins, reverse the sample, change the pitch, etc. And then when you find what you like I just stay and drop it onto Ableton. Https://icedaudio.com/site/. Source: almost 3 years ago
Also, I didn't see it mentioned, but if it's environments that you are mostly after, one possible solution is to use HDRIs for the background. Obviously those are more limiting than a proper 3D environment but might be good if you are just doing static, one-off shots. As for rule 2 compliance, you may recall from the last post, I textured the duck with an image from unsplash. I used a terrain texture from polyhaven.com (was texturehaven.com back when I downloaded it.) I honestly cannot remember which tool I got the heightmap from, it was so long ago.
