  • [Game Thread] Missouri vs. Wake Forest (6:30 PM ET)
This season's Holiday Drive has definitely been more about learning the ropes of running it as a bona fide non-profit. Someone suggested we hook up Amazon Smile, so I did. Another user wanted to be able to do employer matching, so I signed us up for the clearing house his company used. We didn't expect the IRS to grand our 501(C)(3) status so quickly, so we kind of jumped right into it this year. It's been... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Anyone has experience with corporate volunteering? They just introduced it and it looks great to make an impact
The company I work for works with Benetivity. I report my volunteer hours, and the company makes a donation to "pay" for my time. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Hack the Change!
The hackathon is generously sponsored by Benevity, the Hunter Hub, Arcurve, Cisco, Lighthouse Labs, AltaML, and the Schulich School of Engineering. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Vim 9 has been released
Many employers use https://benevity.com/ to manage the charitable giving that employees can do. Benevity organizes (legit) nonprofits into like a big index, and allows employees to donate directly, using paypal, payroll deduction, cc, etc. depending on the employer, they can also match what an employee is donating, making it a big win for the nonprofit. • Trouble finding a job
I applied a ton on LinkedIn and reached out to recruiters through there. greenhouse.io is also a good one. Otherwise, Google is your best friend, and I'd hand pick positions that make you apply directly on the company website rather than 3rd party. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • job application forms suck
It's insane how shit some of these application forms are. Why can't every company have something like greenhouse.io so I don't have to make a fucking account to send you my resume and then fill out a bunch of the same info anyway. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • With online job applications, how do I apply for one job posting but indicate that I'm open to others?
Many jobs use services like greenhouse.io to post their jobs, and each job posting has an application form right on the listing. I'm applying to several companies where I'd be happy in several different positions (e.g. SWE on team X, SWE on team Y, SWE on team Z). Should I be filling out each form separately? Should I fill out just one but indicate that I'm open to other roles? Should I be trying to track down a... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Need some help/advice with my resume and finding a new role.
I'd say I am not anti social, and I do get along well with people. No problem working in a team or by myself. I definitely get what you're saying though about looking like another It guy, but I just don't know what to edit. I wonder if my resume even makes it to a real person and isn't just being thrown out. I've noticed 99% of the jobs I apply for all use the same greenhouse.io format, and I never ever hear back... Source: about 3 years ago
