If a game isn't available on Steam you have three possibilities. First if it's available on GOG, Epic Games or Amazon Gaming, you could use the Heroic Games Launcher. A free account is somewhat limited, and I can imagine you may need to only have uploaded whatever assets you need for the next session due to space limitations, but it's easier to use and way more pretty than anything else I've tried.
