This is essentially a watered down version of the "MVC" architecture. I use http lib of node for server and requests, cheerio for webscraping and Sendinblue for sending the emails and mongodb (atlas) for storing all of the data. One really cool feature that KOReader has for self-hosters though is support for wallabag, which is a "read it later" service that you can self-host. Then you can access your saved articles through its web UI, Android app or KOReader. I highly recommend checking it out if you like reading articles.
