  • Do I really have to choose between a working mail and working SSL?
    I have a domain with a mail on strato.de (S) and a website on cargo.site (C). Source: 8 months ago
  • How to point A-Record to an IP & NS-Record mail problem
I had struggles adding my webmail to a mail service and according to my webhost that was because I had the NS-Records pointed to my external website-host (where I built my website: https://cargo.site/). So I pointed the NS-Records back to the webhost and was told to point the domain to my site via A-Records (IP-adress) instead. Then I tried to ping my website to find out the IP adress and pointed my domains... Source: 8 months ago
  • Absolute noob here, I’m a spanish filmmaker and would like to know which type of software or coding system this webpage was most likely created with!
As u/purpleornavy commented, you can use https://builtwith.com/ to find out what technologies were used to create a website. It appears the website you linked is created with cargo.site. If you look on their wesite in the templates section, you can actually find a template that is pretty similar to the website you linked. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Does anybody think web design is complete shit compared to what it used to be?
I like Cargo for this reason. Their templates are unique and much more intended for a “creatives” market. They offer discounts to students in the top design and art schools. My web developer professor this semester at Pratt talked a lot about this exact concept, though. He encouraged us to get creative and gave examples showing sites from the flash era. The websites a lot of people came up with in the class were... Source: about 1 year ago
  • DNS Lookup and Checker Tool - Test and Troubleshoot DNS Issues and Records
Hey, loving your tool and have been using it a LOT recently. I'm a newbie to a lot of web management of DNS etc., so this might be an easy one: but when I look up my domain for example https://www.nslookup.io/domains/kristiankruse.com/dns-records/ it doesn't find any CNAME records, why is that? It's a cargo.site site so has to use their DNS Manager. Assuming that's why, but still wondered. Also, if you had... Source: about 1 year ago

  • Automating standups using GPT4 and Github APIs
We think GitReport could replace standup apps like Geekbot. So we're making it into a product. More Git features are coming, like tracking issues and pull requests. Source: 9 months ago
  • Agile / Scrum
We run standups every day, however only 2x of them are a Teams call. The other 3 are run using a tool called Geekbot (Yes scrum masters do hate this) which is basically just a chatbot that sends you the standard standup questions and you can answer whenever you feel like it. This has helped our team heaps due to having such a huge mix of people in our team (Cloud Eng, Database Eng, Software Eng, Network Eng) that... Source: about 1 year ago
  • What do you really think of your daily standup?
My new job recently pulled in https://geekbot.com/ to handle stand ups. Answer a couple basic questions when you login, and they’re all sent to a central channel. I’m not big on that type of communication in general, but it takes maybe 30 seconds each morning. Source: over 1 year ago
  • As an IC, is there anything I can do about super cheerful team members using up meetings time?
We use Geekbot to help standups. The feedback from each dev goes into a channel, then we talk about things that need to be addressed or things we're working on. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Scrum Has Failed the Developers
Back in 2005, I remember working on startups running on Scrum principles. It worked well at the time, we where able to ship, grow the team, and move forward with a nice few-features-per-week cadence, working remotely, on a small team; less than 10. Tt always worked fine, but very slow, as all-dev-things were at the time. I worked with ActiveColab in 2007, Skype 2007, Yammer 2009, Trello 2011, Pivotal Tracker 2013,... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
