This happens, sadly, if you don't do your homework. If you go with something like Chargemap or ShellRecharge you're going to have a bad awakening. If you want to be able to travel for cheap, go to Chargeprice and check the prices there. Vanly (https://vanly.app/) exists, but (at least when I looked into it last year) it wasn't worth the cost. Just checked again in Cape Cod - people want $25/night. For $25/night I'll just go to an established campground or something.
