This happens, sadly, if you don't do your homework. If you go with something like Chargemap or ShellRecharge you're going to have a bad awakening. If you want to be able to travel for cheap, go to Chargeprice and check the prices there. Also, look at EnBW for example, they have a good charging network support while keeping the costs at about 49ct/kWh, depends on the country you want to drive through. For the... They all have whizbang features such as live-chat, collaboration stuffs, automations and workflows. They bill per contact and addons. I’d emphasize a straightforward, fuss-free angle instead.
