That said, over the summer I taught her some of the basics of programming with a Botley toy, which is a little robot for kids to program. From there she did a bit of CodeSpark before moving onto ScratchJr which as I mentioned she is taking online classes for. They have a gameified "Mario world" of coding challenges that are smaller and come with more explanation, tests to guide you through edge cases and provide hints. The challenges start from total beginner and progress to more advanced. And best of all, after you solve a problem they show you what other people do. I highly recommend this for you.
