To me, it seems that colornames.org is the equivalent of wikipedia.org but for colors.

There are some standard names for some hex codes which you can see a list of here. I would recommend against using any of the more distinctive colour names (e.g. Alice Blue) on this list unless refering to these exact hex codes. Otherwise call it whatever you want to within reason. My school gives me a laptop that is very restricted, most settings cannot be changed without admin, everything is logged, cmd blocked, websites blocked, etc. My laptop with Zorin OS (linux) does not have that issue so I always keep it in my bag.
