I hate pushing my opinion on folks (because I really do respect folks who want to be fully done and they're completely valid) but I really do think there should be at least some consideration to the waves or ethos.io proposals (or more due diligence since it seemed like Binance and a few other companies were involved). Some booking websites allow you to search specifically for hostels. I just took a quick glance, and expedia.com allows it. Booking.com doesn't appear so, but maybe I missed something. Source: about 1 year ago
Whatever safe bed you can find at this point. You've left it too late to be picky and it's looking like it's going to be the start of the the busiest, boomiest tourist season here in Italy ever. Expect to have to stay very, very, very far from city centers and transit connections or to pay $400+/night on a place.
