5 Strong Alternatives to Ticketmaster for Buying Event Tickets
Dice is unique in the ticket market. Although you can browse events on the website, tickets are only available on the Dice mobile app. This is done to prevent for-profit resellers from getting access to the tickets. If you’ve purchased a ticket, all you need to do is turn up at the venue and show the QR code on the Dice app.
7 App Startups Transforming Ticketing
Mustafa Suleyman and Demis Hassabis (founders of Google-owned artificial intelligence company DeepMind) are among the startup’s backers. And this month, DICE announced that it has raised $6 million in a Series A round led by Evolution Equity Partners. DICE has ambitious global expansion plans with its sights set on Europe and the US. • What are all the 20-30 year olds doing in NYC nightlife nowadays, and how can I join in on it?
I'd try Dice https://dice.fm & Resident Advisor https://ra.co/events/us/newyork. Also the pinned post on /r/avesNYC has a comment from someone with this handy event calendar that they maintain. Maybe you can meet people on that sub to meet up with at the events you already think you might like, and there's always meeting new people once you're at an event. Source: about 1 year ago

  • GNU Units
I personally use Qalculate (https://qalculate.github.io/), specifically their CLI version for this purpose. I'm not sure how well it compares to GNU Units, but it works well enough for my needs; and it's fairly simple using English-like syntax. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
  • Ask HN: Do you still use a hand held/desktop calculator?
On the terminal, I use `qalc`[1]. It's a nice natural language calculator that does arithmetic, solves quadratic equations/linear systems, does unit conversions and even a bit of calculus. Combine it with a cli graphing tool and you can do pretty cool things. Anything more complicated I'm probably ok with latency, so I open up wolframalpha and enter it there, again, in natural language. [1]... - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
