This is too biased for me IMHO. I do agree with some points, documentation IS amazing, and you are very likely under-documenting things. But documentation is not cheap to create, and specially it's not cheap to maintain. In terms of getting hold of these books and articles, this thread provides some useful (and legal) tips and some links provided in this thread, u/PhiloSpo also works to highlight open access works. Libraries are always an invaluable tool to recommend and can help you get hold of books, for me jstor.org with 100 articles a month on a free account, academia.edu has free papers have been very useful as a platform....
