Actually found this question really interesting. So I went to britannica.com for answers. And it seem that slaver inst part of any ideology. Its been used by everybody. From ancient Athens, to Imperial China, from Nazis in Germany to communist in Soviet Union. So I guess it was just a way of life, which most of us only recently found out is incredibly wrong. I think there is a lot of misrepresentation, which is kind of what a lot of people on the right are saying. A lot of that is because it makes money. For example, any day of the week, go to msnbc.com and ctrl-f/command-f "Trump". You likely won't get less than 7 or 8 results.
