  • UM690: My short MiniPC Journey and the review bias
So, you're complaining about a company, that hired a second company to host its files for download. Mediafire has been selling file storage / download capability to the internet and businesses, for ages. It's been reviewed by Gizmodo, c/Net, Lifehacker, TechCrunch, and engadget.com, that I know of. • Trump’s free speech app Truth Social is censoring content and kicking off users
How? It's not up and operating yet? There is still a waiting list to join when it goes live. Maybe somebody at engadget.com should research before writing articles. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Why can't I load websites when connected to ProtonVPN? It only loads after disconnecting.
This is from the DNS server on their VPN server not responding to your computer's DNS requests (aka, your PC is asking it what the IP for engadget.com is and the DNS server on their side isn't responding so your PC doesn't know the IP needed to get there). I made a post about noticing this happen at random on the US-IL#60-68 servers but it seems afew others it's happening on as well. Source: over 2 years ago
  • problems loading websites, even Reddit....
I keep getting this warning. Sometimes hitting F5 will load the page fine, sometimes no. I would have to F5 many times for the site to load. it happens on multiple browsers. Here im trying to open engadget.com and petapixel.com. Source: over 2 years ago
  • The soon-to-be new face of blockchain gaming
Recently, holoride had a roadshow in the US and got to show off its In-Car gaming. The experience was really amazing and this even led to R. Baldwin of http://engadget.com giving a review of the experience. Source: almost 3 years ago

  • Ask HN: What are your favorite newsletters at the moment?
I asked a similar question some time back and discovered many fantastic recommendations in the comments. I think it's not a bad idea to repeat it from time to time, so here we are! Let's start with the ones I currently recommend: https://www.pragmaticengineer.com/ - industry insights. https://www.workspaces.xyz/ - people sharing their home office setup incl. photos. https://leaddev.com/ - leadership stuff.... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • Show HN: HackYourNews – AI summaries of the top HN stories
Funny that in today's Hacker Newsletter [0], they exclude this thread from their Show HN section. Even though it has way more points than other stories. I think you're onto something. Congrats. 0 - https://hackernewsletter.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Ask HN: What tech newsletters are you currently subscribing to? (August 2023)
I asked the same question back in July, and then I thought let's make it a monthly thing from now on. Mine currently are: https://www.pragmaticengineer.com/ https://bigtechdigest.substack.com/ https://leaddev.com/ https://www.ben-evans.com/ (thanks for recommendation tiffanyh) https://hackernewsletter.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
