• Tip for everyone who hasn't converted their assets to .webp yet

  Download and install the File Converter, right-click on an image file such as jpg, png, etc. And hover over "File Converter" which should be above "Open with," go to "Configure presets," go to webp, set the quality to something reasonable like 90 (you can even go lower), save.   Also, don't discount scholarships. Like someone else said, you don't have to start college immediately after high school. You can take time off to work & save (nothing wrong with going at your own pace). If you do that, utilize myscholly.com here to apply to relevant scholarships. They're not all academically based!
