I earned at 16-18, learn a skill and become fairly good at it. And make an account on Fiverr. upwork. freelancer.com, etc. Design, code, or anything which can be offered digitally. If you get an order on any of them double down on it. Cold reach-out works, but you've to show something to them as a portfolio. Instagram is a good place, as I did. Source: almost 1 year ago
If my subscribers and views were multiplied by 100, it would have become a part-time job. I would be declaring income on my tax form, and keeping track of expenses. I might be considering hiring part-time editors on freelancer.com, but since they'd be independent contractors, they'd be just an expense to me. They'd be responsible for their own taxes. I worked on freelancer.com for 3 months doing mostly side gigs. WIth the payment, it wasn't much of an issue for me. The first payment indeed, it was more "special", as in, it took 2 months until I got the money in my account. But any other payment after that, were processed within days (at worst). I am also waiting for payment since two weeks. Other than that, I think that the layout looks... Source: about 1 year ago
One of the things that stands in the way of this (for me) is that I've been out of academia for nearly ten years. I never even got verified for submitting CS pre-prints https://arxiv.org/ for example, which I should have done before leaving school. - Source: Hacker News / 30 days ago

I’m also curious about the role decentralized, open knowledge bases might play as a counterweight to AI-driven narrowing. Could initiatives like Wikidata, arXiv, or IPFS provide a bulwark against knowledge collapse by making marginal information more accessible? There’s lots of room for further work here. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
Just read some AI papers on https://arxiv.org , that will give you an idea(but don't worry too much, they probably used some AI in the making of those papers, lol). But as soon the next generation of AI is out (the next step in AI), everything will change again. Source: 7 months ago
