  If my subscribers and views were multiplied by 100, it would have become a part-time job. I would be declaring income on my tax form, and keeping track of expenses.   I worked on freelancer.com for 3 months doing mostly side gigs. WIth the payment, it wasn't much of an issue for me. The first payment indeed, it was more "special", as in, it took 2 months until I got the money in my account. But any other payment after that, were processed within days (at worst).   I once posted on reddit my thoughts on freelancer.com and I assume, that it does not have a high reputation among other redditors. Someone who hired freelancers on that very site said, that clearing a payment is very difficult on that site, which I could understand. So do you have also faced other problems on that side?   But by way of encouragement maybe, the area near my office—off Irving Blvd and Medical District Dr—is not pedestrian friendly by any stretch. Google Maps will give you worthless, even dangerous bike routes. Citymapper is a bit better, but really what I found paid off was spending some time studying maps, aerial and street-level imagery, then a weekend morning doing some testing and exploration.
