Freemcserver.net is really good, it stays online for 24 hours which is much better than 5 minutes on aternos. Litterally just once every day to renew. COMPLETELY FREE! You can also use plugins and still have a lot of RAM. Btw I am not advertising. Source: over 1 year ago

I've used aternos for a long time and it gives 2.5gb ram but it doesnt allow carpet mod, so I switched to freemcserver.net a few months ago but the thing is it only give 1gb ram for free and server mostly runs on 10-15 tp. Actually Microsoft's digital collaborative whiteboard might be better than trello, although both are free. The collaborative nature and the ability to attach the documents visually would make it a pretty good fit. Tons of others out there like miro.com, conceptboard.com ryeboard.com that have varying levels of "free" but I think if it's purely word docs you're working with, sticking with the Microsoft universe...
