If you're not capable of hosting the solution yourself, there are solutions that have per-agent models that will cost you much less than SchoolDude, all while being substantially more feature rich. osTicket and FreshService are both great examples. It is unacceptable to bring a risk of accidentally sending dummy emails to real customers. To test email notifications, I recommend using Mailtrap. Mailtrap is a dummy SMTP server for testing emails sent from development and staging environments. Mailcatcher can be a replacement here.
