Third - the 1099. If you have a consulting contract, then you don't have to pay taxes for the individual. The consulting contract will clearly state that they are responsible for all taxes, including self-employment taxes. I still use a payroll service (gusto.com in my case, but whatever floats your boat) to pay contractors, that way someone else is taking care of the 1099s and such, which can be a pain in the ass. I believe web.whatsapp.com is being blocked by local telecom companies in order to protect their duopoly and keep Oman in tech--stone-age. If fewer people know how else the rest of the world uses the internet, then they don't have to make an effort to improve their offerings. Omantel is definitely blocking this web.whatsapp.com.
