The issue is that files became corrupted, resulting in it needing to check the file system. If you have a hard drive enclosure, I would recommend using the enclosure to connect the drive to a computer, and running a drive diagnostic utility. Dropbox: You absolutely NEED backups. Ideally, both physical and cloud backups, because if you only have one backup, you're not backed up.
