  I think a lot of people book hotels using credit card rewards. But another option is hoteltonight.com which is where many hotels sell their extra, unsold rooms. I believe you can book out several months in advance though, funny enough. Source: about 2 years ago

  If you can get to the Metro North station before the last train, do so. The metro north trains are fine. The worst problem you might have are some loud drunk people headed home after a night out.   If not, I would also recommend Wise. It's a great service, especially if you are going to need to fund the account with both GBP and EUR. Not only can you use Wise to move GBP to EUR, you could also use it as a multi-currency bank account. Source: about 2 years ago
