This code creates a simple HTML file with a header, an about me section, and a projects section. It also links to a CSS file that styles the website. You can customize this code to add your own content and styling. Or you can use a template from a site like HTML5 UP or Start Bootstrap to get started. - Source: dev.to / about 1 month ago
While many might find the initial steps relatively straightforward, I encountered significant struggles. HTML/CSS, being a markup language, posed challenges for me throughout my academic years, and I even resisted learning them for years after graduating. Deciding to embrace this language was a major milestone for me which greatly expanded my grasp of web development. After dedicating three months to learning and... - Source: dev.to / 9 months ago
The initial steps were all about creating a static website using HTML and CSS. To be honest, I'd never made a website before, so I went on a bit of a journey to learn about HTML and CSS. Luckily, I stumbled upon https://html5up.net/, a site that had great templates. It saved me a ton of time; I just had to tweak the text and add my own touch to the code. - Source: dev.to / 10 months ago
There are several great website templates that you can choose from - I chose from HTML5 Up! It appeared to be a great bridge between visuals, usability, and an educational introduction to the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript languages. - Source: dev.to / 12 months ago
Thank you for your kind feedback. As a backend developer, I wouldn't have been able to build this site from scratch. Instead, I opted for an HTML5 UP! Template (https://html5up.net/), which turned out to be one of the best 20 bucks I've ever spent. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago

I skipped to chapter 9 in the article ("Clogged"), and it looked like Pipes failed because it didn't have a large enough team or a well-defined mission. As a result they couldn't offer a super robust product that would lure in enterprise users. "You could not purchase some number of guaranteed-to-work Pipes calls per month" is the quote from the article. The reason I think that interesting is because that's the... - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
I'm the co-founder of Budibase and we've spent the last 5 years building what we believe is a better, faster, open source replacement for VB. Check it out: [1] https://budibase.com. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
Budibase looks really impressive, basically a GUI frontend builder for postgres and its open source. Haven't actually deployed it, but played with the GUI builder and its nice. There's a few other similar ones out there too like Baserow [2], Appsmith [3] and nocodb [4]. Finally, if you wanted a step up, then I guess supabase [5] would be the next one up but its more like "I just want to write front end and have... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
