5 Open-Source Search Engines For your Website
Apache Solr is the popular, blazing-fast, open-source enterprise search platform built on Apache Lucene. Solr is a standalone search server with a REST-like API. You can put documents in it (called "indexing") via JSON, XML, CSV, or binary over HTTP. You query it via HTTP GET and receive JSON, XML, CSV, or binary results.

Elasticsearch vs. Solr vs. Sphinx: Best Open Source Search Platform Comparison
Solr is not as quick as Elasticsearch and works best for static data (that does not require frequent changing). The reason is due to caches. In Solr, the caches are global, which means that, when even the slightest change happens in the cache, all indexing demands a refresh. This is usually a time-consuming process. In Elastic, on the other hand, the refreshing is made by...

Algolia Review – A Hosted Search API Reviewed
If you’re not 100% satisfied with Algolia, there are always alternative methods to accomplish similar results, such as Solr (open-source & self-hosted) or ElasticSearch (open-source or hosted). • Save/export iMessages from a friend, but remove them from my Phone?
Hello and sorry for your loss. The is an application for macOS called iMazing which allows you to make archives of your messages (and has a lot of other functionality). It’s a paid app with pricing ranging from one device to multiple. Hope it helps. Https://imazing.com/backup-iphone-ipad. Source: about 1 year ago
  • i want to backup broken iphone to mac but i can't type in the password to trust the computer
iMazing can create backups of iPhone.. Unknown if it needs input on iPhone to verify trust as I has been a while for me since using it for backup iOS.. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How can you automatically backup your iphone to a truenas server?
I haven't gotten this far yet, but, was going to look into https://imazing.com/backup-iphone-ipad. Still setting up other things first. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Self hosted alternative to iCloud?
I believe iCloud is for backing up and syncing iDevices. He (your friend/family?) can configure what is, or is not, backed up to iCloud. He could, for example, remove photos from being backed up if he would prefer to reduce the amount of space needed. I would recommend against him replacing iCloud completely because it also is essential for restoring an iDevice that has been lost or stolen. The only other... Source: about 2 years ago

  • Looking for software
Apache Solr can be used to index and search text-based documents. It supports a wide range of file formats including PDFs, Microsoft Office documents, and plain text files. https://solr.apache.org/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • 'google-like' search engine for files on my NAS
If so, then https://solr.apache.org/ can be a solution, though there's a bit of setup involved. Oh yea, you get to write your own "search interface" too which would end up calling solr's api to find stuff. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Search engine.
Developers will use their SQL database when searching for specific things like client names, product names, or address search. Now when you want to level up from there and search all tables you better off using a separated server with a specific program like https://solr.apache.org/. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Search text from PDF files stored in an S3 bucket
We’re using a self-managed OpenSearch node here, but you can use Lucene, SOLR, ElasticSearch or Atlas Search. Source: almost 2 years ago
