I always use the 「いちばん大切なのは楽しむことです」(the most important thing is to have fun) phrase when it comes to language learning,normally I would watch anime or play some video games,when there are words or phrases that I don't know I would use japandict.com most of the time or maybe looking for pitch accent patterns. It is slow and designed to be easy. In its defense it is a casual app designed to be used casually. On the other hand, I took the German and Dutch courses in 2019-2020 and got enough basis in them to be able to now listen/watch content in the languages and to learn from the languages. I learnt some basics from the site memrise.com and im still learning. Even talking with my turkish friends and their family helps me a lot to get better. Everytime I have the chance to speak with someone in turkish, I do it, no matter if im good or not.
