Bitdefender and Kaspersky have excellent free offerings. Kaspersky is lightweight. Both updates tend to be seamless. There is no NGAV consumer AV offering in the sense that they don't need constant signature updates like SentinelOne. I would use Bitdefender Free or Kaspersky Free over Windows Defender and Malwarebytes. The free versions of either of these two are more than enough for a personal computer. I tried downloading an unlocker program to see if maybe any processes were stalling it, but not even that could remove the file. I'm completely at a loss. I could just ignore the file for the rest of my life, but I'd really rather not with how concerningly broken it is. Source: about 1 year ago
