"Regular" people don't really need FFMPEG. Regular people need tools with GUIs that have a non-generic purpose. So stuff like https://kdenlive.org/en/ that are backed by ffmpeg are (imo) superior "regular" person tools. FFMPEG isn't complicated (its as complicated as any other CLI tool), it's that video encoding/decoding specifically is a hard problem space that you have to explicitly learn to better understand... - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
Great that you got it to work. Just to make the list with potential tools a bit more complete: - Kdenlive is also a fairly capable video editor. https://kdenlive.org/en/ - From what I have heard the Blender video editor for many people is a go to tool as well. I didn't catch the first thread so I'm not sure how this is going down, but there are a couple different websites that let people watch the same movie online that has a chatroom. I've used this one before and it's fun and really easy to use: https://getmetastream.com/. Source: about 2 years ago
w2g is currently bugged at the moment; until it's fixed, I recommend you use a dedicated website/extension like https://getmetastream.com/ or https://hyperbeam.com/ as it is far better because you can use them for any site. You can find some tutorial videos on the web if you don't know how to set it up. Source: about 2 years ago
There's also https://getmetastream.com/, which I can recommend. Source: over 2 years ago
