In the past, I've used a program to display the traditional keyboard key states, but in the end, I find it's just not necessary. Ideally, none of them should ever change and preventing them from being accidentally toggled is pretty easy. Source: over 1 year ago

I have an Obdlink LX. I use the Torque app for Android and the Obdwiz app included with the device. It is compatible with just about every protocol and there is a huge aftermarket with the Torque app where you can get custom PID'S. All my vehicles are GM though.
