Klogg is cross-platform open source tool designed to view and search information in large log files.

Klogg:

  • Runs on Unix-like systems, Windows and Mac thanks to Qt5
  • Supports Perl-compatible regular expressions
  • Is fast and reads the file directly from disk, without loading it into memory
  • Utilizes all CPU cores to speed up regex-matching
  • Detects file encoding using uchardet library (support utf8, utf16, cp1251 and more)
  • Colorizes the log and search results
  • Watches for file changes on disk and reloads it (kind of like tail)

  • Lnav Logfile Navigator
Not a CLI tool, but I recently started using https://klogg.filimonov.dev/ klogg (which seems to be a successor of glogg) more and more often. - Source: Hacker News / 12 days ago

Glogg is a great tool, but unfortunately it is not developed anymore. I maintain a fork -- klogg (https://klogg.filimonov.dev). It is generally faster for both opening a file and performing searches. Current dev builds that use hyperscan regular expression engine can open a file and do a search while glogg would still be indexing that file. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Opening large files (>2GB) in Windows
Once I had to go through an unusually large log file which was around 2GB. I am a regular Notepad++ user but it couldn't handle the file. In addition to opening the file I also needed to search around the file for keywords like Error or Exception. I found klogg to be just the right tool for me. It allows for viewing as well searching for words within the large text file easily. - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago
  • pyTermTk, a personal attempt to create a Python TUI
This is still an early stage TUI, many widgets are incomplete or missing (i.e. Text area, partial keyboard support, incomprehensible Documentation) I have very little time to work on it and the progresses are incredibly slow. I develop it in order to create a terminal log viewer that could mimic the features exposed by glogg or klogg. Source: over 2 years ago

  • Golang for backend
There's nothing like Django for Go, I believe the closest would be Buffalo, typically when building backends in Go you pick and choose a combination of standard library packages and third party packages to build your services. Source: over 2 years ago

These seem to be a way to embed all files to one executeable binary. Similar for Windows is https://github.com/sudachen/Molebox Others: - C/C++ has linker to link all to one binary - CLI/webserver only https://github.com/jart/cosmopolitan like https://redbean.dev . Same exe works on many x64 OS like Windows/macOS/Linux/BSD, it embeds .zip file and can read/write to embedded .zip on the fly. - AppImage... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • why do big projects like docker, hugo, terraform, traefik, cockroachdb, influxdb etc used golang despite all these gotchas and caveats?
If you want to build a website with Go, first of you don't need nginx or caddy. Go's standard library web server is fantastic. One thing I find with Go is that because it's powerful enough to build a great web server, memory cache, or database, you can solve problems at a lower level. This is something I personally find really fun. If you want a full-on web formwork experience checkout https://gobuffalo.io/en/.... Source: over 2 years ago
  • A Love Letter to Ruby and Rails
It's early days but so far I've quite enjoyed my experience with Buffalo (Golang) framework [1], which mostly copies from Rails. Get Go performance and static typing. Definitely some rough patches, but overall still quite an enjoyable experience (so far). [1] https://gobuffalo.io/en/. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
