Honestly? I use https://beets.io/ to organise all my FLAC on my NAS. I expose the /Music directory over NFC. I use https://kodi.tv/ to stream music to my amp. Kodi sounds like what you're describing. You connect it to a tv and it can play media from your network, or use add-ons for internet streaming. I'm not sure if it includes the most popular streaming services, but I suppose you could use a browser for those. Source: about 1 year ago
I keep the space station live feed from ustream.tv on one of my monitors at work as a sort of peaceful distraction. When I turned on the feed today, the earth was passing from left to right on my monitor. However, for the last three months, it had been passing from right to left.
