Nope, you can easily get a crypto wallet with just few clicks (Metamask browser extension for Ethereum, Phantom for Solana, Bitpay for Bitcoin etc). Then you can buy it through peer to peer, which means there will be a seller and you as the buyer and no one else in between, you can use localbitcoins.com for buying BTC, or kucoin.com which is a crypto exchanging and doesn't require KYC and has a lot of options.
