I use librarything.com to keep track of books I read. One of the things I like most about the site is that it basically works like your own personal library card catalog. You can create "collections" as well as tags to organize your books. You can easily add books by edition, format, or ISBN to your library. Not at all, every situation is different. There are certainly conditions and requirements, but there is no "just because his family is Turkish" reasoning in a determination. That's illegal as it would be blatant prejudice and possibly racism. However if he travels too frequently without reasonable explanations then yes, that could be within guidelines for a denial.
