Check out Listen Box! It creates a RSS feed podcast for any YT video, playlist, or channel you throw at it. With a few dollar per month subscription, it will track your channels and update the podcasts when new videos come out. I don't have any direct experience and am only suggesting it because you mentioned RoR...But Grails (https://grails.org/) is basically the JVM version of RoR (Groovy on Rails -> Grails). Source: over 1 year ago
