AWS Lambda might be a bit more popular than Local by Flywheel. We know about 252 links to it since March 2021 and only 228 links to Local by Flywheel. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
Yeah -- though I think VVV has been thoroughly supplanted by Local: https://localwp.com Which almost every serious WP developer I know uses. (I personally use my own simplified Vagrant package management scripts with some ssh_config integration hooks because I work on more than WP and value standardisation across VM environments more than I value the features Local adds). - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
Developing WordPress plugins and themes often requires a reliable development environment. Current we have good solutions as wp-env from Autommatic, Local WP from WP Engine, Docker, XAMPP (for old ones) and so on. All this can be good suits for a development environment, specially Local WP that is probably the easiest one to get up and running and wp-env that leverages Docker as a development environment in a very... - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
Personally if you’re on windows I like using localwp (localwp.com) from wheelfly / wpengine it lets you quickly spin up multiple sites, duplicate them, test mail, one click admin, etc. Its helped me prototype multiple websites over the last year faster than I ever did manually setting up Wordpress instances on vms or docker. Adding to the above recommendations, you could also try Local by Flywheel: https://localwp.com/. Source: 7 months ago
IMHO Don't worry about the Flywheel environment that's referred to in in the course, just use Local WP to provision a local hosting environment https://localwp.com/ – or MAMP or whatever you prefer – and go from there. Source: 10 months ago
Having full control over your Amazon Web Services (AWS) costs isn't that easy. Amazon designed the service to be able to limit execution as well as inform when something goes wrong or a specified cost (expected or real) is reached. Instances usually have a fixed maximum cost per month depending on what we run, so I will focus here on one of the scalable parts of the AWS offerings: AWS lambda. - Source: dev.to / 4 days ago
In today's world of cloud computing, AWS Lambda is a serverless, event-driven compute service that lets you run code for virtually any type of application or backend service without provisioning or managing servers. You can trigger Lambda from over 200 AWS services and software as a service (SaaS) applications, and only pay for what you use. - Source: dev.to / about 1 month ago
The first reason is that serverless architectures are inherently scalable and elastic. They automatically scale up or down based on the incoming workload without requiring manual intervention through serverless compute services like AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, or Google Cloud Functions. - Source: dev.to / about 1 month ago
On this day, we both first learned about Lambda. This was the world's first public Functions-as-a-Service platform, better known as FaaS. They told us that this was the next evolution in Cloud Computing. With Lambda, you could now host snippets of code on AWS. There were no more idle workers, and you could auto-scale with minimal additional configuration required. Also, these snippets were event-driven by nature.... - Source: dev.to / about 2 months ago
AWS Lambda simplifies composable applications by offering serverless execution, seamless integration with AWS services, automatic scaling, and cost efficiency without the need to manage servers. - Source: dev.to / about 2 months ago
