  I use MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid-2014) with Manjaro as OS using i3 as a window manager. It isn't perfect, but I'm thrilled with it.   I had ideas to build an app, and made few 2 years ago or so. Indeed these technologies are great to start with. I would suggest going with Kodular.io or thunkable.com instead of appinventor.
