  • Porting Python to a terrible $3 smartwatch [video]
For context > MicroPython is a lean and efficient implementation of the Python 3 programming language that includes a small subset of the Python standard library and is optimised to run on microcontrollers and in constrained environments. https://micropython.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 11 days ago
  • RustPython
Just putting my hand up to say that MicroPython is awesome (and runs on the RP2040). https://micropython.org. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
  • about microprocessor
If you really want to engage in the travesty that is shoehorning a high level scripting language into an environment that has 512 bytes of RAM and less clock cycles than an electric toothbrush, there is micropython. Source: 7 months ago
  • Show HN: MicroLua – Lua for the RP2040 Microcontroller
I favor micropython[0]. Besides being Python, which I prefer, it actually runs on m68k and RISC-V. 0. https://micropython.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • Ask HN: Embedded Scripting Options for Microcontrollers
Needed for hobby project, maintained by very small team. Haven't decided on specific microcontroller. Needed for general bit-banging, speed and code size are not priorities. So far have considered MicroPython [0] [1] and Lua [2] [3], but open for suggestions for others. What are experiences? [0] https://micropython.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago

  • free low spec games (any)
Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup. Free roguelike with lots of options, but uncomplicated. You can run it on just about anything. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • What's your #1 comfort game? THE one you can't wait to play after a long day and that you keep coming back to regardless of how many years pass.
Also, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is a decent pick. It's free, so hard to beat the price. There's also no music or audio at all, which means I can listen to my own music or a podcast while I rampage through the dungeon as a Troll Berzerker, pulling apart goblins like they're made of monkey bread. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Old games to play with lofi music in the background
Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup is a good one. It is a classic-style roguelike that does not feature sound effects or music of its own. I will frequently queue up podcasts to listen to while I take a run or two. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Singleplayer/offline games for a week or two without internet that you can actually finish (not endless)? [PC]
If you're down for an older-style roguelike, Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup is free and it's optimal for a keyboard that has a 10-key (numpad) for movement. There is an endgame, but it takes a lot of luck and doing to reach it. I just poke at the game on occasion to see how far I get. Never been within any reasonable distance of the end. Source: over 2 years ago
  • [Steam] Rift Wizard (25% off / $11.24)
DCSS or Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup as it's known in full is considered to be one of the best roguelikes out there. DCSS originally released in 2006, it's a fork ofLinley's Dungeon Crawl aka. Crawl (1997) which again is based of off modified NetHack code (1987). Source: almost 3 years ago
