As answered by people managing Mokkup and Balsamiq.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Mokkup's answer

I understand that while there are several wireframing tools in the market like Figma, Miro, numerro.io, Mockup Tiger, Infogram, and Moqups etc. , these tools are primarily designed for designers and lack the specific features that cater to the needs of data professionals.

What's the story behind your product?

Mokkup's answer

NeenOpal (Est. 2016) is a management consulting firm with a special focus on Business Intelligence. Mokkup.ai was launched by NeenOpal in 2023 and is being actively used in the company and has now been made available to users to help them visualize their dashboard wireframes in minutes and not days.

Mokkup.ai was launched by NeenOpal Inc. NeenOpal is a Business Intelligence Consulting firm which had to build an in-house design team to better serve our customers with the best in class data visualization and reporting solutions.

We built mokkup.ai as a product to empower data analysts with quickly wireframing the dashboard ideas and taking user feedback making sure that the dashboard aligns with the business objectives. Mokkup has hundreds of industry standard reporting templates empowering the analysts with the best reporting and design practices in the form of templates.

A lot of wireframing tools such as Miro, Figma exist in the market which are more targeted towards Designers and do not meet the requirements of a Data Analyst.

  • Revenge of the Junior Developer
Usually my own way of working is to use Balsamiq[0] to have a visual prototype to test out flows, Figma|Sketch for the UI specs, then to just code it. Kinda the same when drawing where you just doodle until you have a few workable ideas, iterate of these to judge colors and other things, and then commit to one for the final result. • Three important steps before jumping to the code
You can still produce something useful even if you’re not a professional designer. For example, you can use a rapid wireframing tool like Balsamiq (my favorite) or Excalidraw. With such tools, you can sketch an idea quickly without spending time on minor visual details. Or, use a whiteboard or good old pencil and paper. Any sketch is better than nothing. - Source: dev.to / 10 months ago

  • Ask HN: Best UI design courses for hackers?
I think the best practical approach for designing UIs is to download (and buy) Balsamic[0] and use that to design UIs. Cut through the nonsense of colours and pixels in the first instance and just lay things out logically and simply. [0] https://balsamiq.com. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
