With the newer, online work management tools that have project management features (ClickUp, Monday.com, etc.), several have free versions and you have the ability to create a custom field that you can use for the assignee, ignoring the built-in field that requires a licensed user or guest. I'm thinking about using small to medium group projects in my classroom to teach students the basics of project management (breaking big tasks into smaller ones, assigning roles, identifying dependencies, estimating effort/duration, tracking progress, etc.) I can do it using google sheets, but I was curious if anyone here has leveraged online tools like monday.com, Asana, Trello, etc. In the educational space. I've been using ShareX (https://getsharex.com/) for some years, which is also open-source, and very featureful while not feeling too bloated, though Windows only.
