I highly suggest checking out Natural Atlas (https://naturalatlas.com/) by the same small team who made the CoTrex app (https://trails.colorado.gov/) for Colorado Parks and Wildflife. A really fantastic team building some absolutely gorgeous topographic basemaps from publicly available data. My advice is to search up places you want to visit and things you want to do in any free time you have. This is now your hobby, lol. Use apps or websites like campendium, or https://campgrounds.rvlife.com. Remember that you need to book 6 months to a year in advance for the more popular places, especially public campgrounds and super popular areas like the Florida keys for example.
