  My own experience from more or less freelancing: If you create an account on a preconfigured server without setting it up on a machine of your own, e.g. On odoo.com / odoo.sh, or cloudpepper.io/ and don't need very specific configurations done, plus are willing to try out and learn a lot (we're speaking about days, not hours, depending on what you need even more than a week) you can do it on your own.   I have a domain purchased: example.com that points to my public IP, as well as a subdomain that points to plex.example.com, and I go through DuckDNS to maintain a static public IP. I have tried changing my example.com back and forth between http/s inside of godaddy.com and it doesn't seem to be making a difference.
