  • Ask HN: How to transcribe 1000s of handwritten notes
Some good transcription solutions: https://zapier.com/blog/best-text-dictation-software/#windowsspeech https://otter.ai/ (Haven't actually tried Otter, but it gets a LOT of good reviews.). - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • How to build a Google Meet AI assistant app in 10 minutes without coding
Of course, there are many existing solutions like Otter.ai or Fathom in the market. But in case you want to build a tool yourself and customize the output of it, then you are on the same page as me. To develop this application, we will use Unbody to convert input video transcriptions into intelligence/generative content and Appsmith to make it easy to design and build the UI of our app without extensive front-end... - Source: dev.to / 7 months ago
  • I'm looking for a particular type of software and I don't know where else to go.
This is weird but I wonder if you could use something like https://otter.ai/. Record your notes as you are going. That should give you at least text of all of your welds. You’d still have to punch it later. Seems like there’s got to be a better way to do this. Stopping every time to break your flow sounds like a huge pain in the ass. Curious what you come up with. • How I tackled more than 2+ conflicting meetings
Is there any app from otter.ai that you run on personal machine? How does otter.ai process 4 different audio streams? Source: 7 months ago
  • How I tackled more than 2+ conflicting meetings
Job laptop -> 3.5mm aux (this turns into speaker output) -> 3.5mm mic/audio splitter (this turns into microphone input) -> 3.5mm to usb-c adapter (cause my macbook only has 1 3.5mm aux) --> now the personal macbook has a new "mic input" from the job laptop. Which you can use to pipe audio into otter.ai to transcribe audio. You have to manually name them, but they learn in subsequent meetings. Source: 7 months ago

  • Best Zoom alternative for online recording?
Cast is an online solution for podcasting and online recording. It records audio and video locally and syncs it to the cloud, which allows users not to worry about Internet connection failures and ensures high quality of the recorded content. The tool isn’t overloaded with features and isn't pricey. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Recording audio online !
I use Cast. It's subscription but not too expensive. Source: over 2 years ago
  • How to Record a Podcast
We’ve been using Cast (https://tryca.st/) for over a year now. We’ve tried some other options like zencastr which I’m not a fan of and local recording which didn’t work that great due to the age of my cohosts computer. Cast works really well and allows a cheap option for hosting and editing too. Although I actually use Descript and Audition for editing. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Recording remotely
I used Castfor my last podcast and loved it. I thought the editing interface was kind of clunky, so there was a little work to do importing and exporting. But hosting with someone in another city plus having a guest in a third location worked great. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Im brand new
For me, the biggest hurdle was figuring out hosting. I ended up going with a platform called CAST which folds a lot of things into one bundle. You can record, edit, host, and publish your podcast from that one location. Source: over 3 years ago
