  You already mentioned documentation. Good! Document everything. Why you chose X method over Y, or this framework over that. This helps later with onboarding and when people want to come up with suggestions, because they can see you already did explore this option earlier on so why bring it up again?   Try out remote.co or indeed.com, and search for remote. Some places have no restrictions on where they hire, and some will be state-specific. Amazon, Home Depot, most of the credit card companies, TTEC, you'd be surprised how many places hire remotely. Most of them will supply you with some, if not all of the equipment that you need.
