I'm using Paperpile (https://paperpile.com/) currently on my iPad Pro and Mac to do this, and it syncs to my Google Drive. My question: with Remarkable2 can I just annotate directly on the PDFs stored on my Google Drive and expect everything just works? I.e., no disruption on Paperpile side (since it just saves the modified PDF files to Google Drive) and my annotations just magically show up when I open the paper... Source: over 1 year ago

Yup, it's a great feature. The app itself is too fiddly for me, I had trouble managing my duplicates. Since I am writing mostly in gdocs, I am keeping my literature in https://paperpile.com . They offer all the integration you could ever want and native citing into Word, gdocs and logseq via link. I chose it primarily due to its good iPad app and integration. Totally worth the few bucks.
